Personalized Radio Service

Personalized Radio Service automatically provides information like a radio, according to the user’s location and activities. The user can also speak to the device to select the preferred information.

In developing N, we envisioned a service with which suitable information is provided automatically according to the user’s location and activities. Furthermore, the user can speak to the device to obtain detailed information.

・Using the Voice Recognition and Multiple microphone beamforming functions, the user is able to give voice commands and then obtain their desired information.
For example, when the user is listening to news information that interests them, it is possible for them to say "More Detail" to listen to a full article. If they are not interested in that particular item of information, they can just say "Next" to skip to the next item. They can also simply give a voice command if they wish to hear the next day's weather forecast or details of their schedule.

・With the Context Recognition function, it is possible for the user to receive appropriate information according to their current location and activity.
For example, if the user is walking down the street, location information can be used to notify them of relevant restaurant and event information. If the user is riding a bicycle, the system can recognize when they have come to a complete stop such as at a traffic light and read them the news. Furthermore, the system is able to recognize when the user is leaving their house in the morning and provide them with appropriate weather information. This function is almost like you have your own personal radio DJ supplying you with information.
